Based on the 1988 novel of the same name by William Brinkley, the TNT drama series isn't afraid to launch the first two episodes of the third season with intense physical and emotional action.

The Lash Ship Season 2 Free HD Quality TV Show Online

Last year, TNT did what few have been able to do over the years: bring the veracity of a Michael Bay action film to television – with the help of Michael Bay himself – in the form of the post-apocalyptic adventure series, The Last Ship. However, despite its rather impressive pilot (that was aided by having Bay film some of the episode’s major action scenes himself as a second unit director) and overall exciting first season, last year’s finale left much to be desired. The cliffhanger felt rather tame and didn’t leave audiences all that excited for what was to come (not so much because of the content, but rather because of its execution). Something about the way Chandler delivered his call to the Nathan James just didn’t feel as “cinematic” – for lack of a better word – as the rest of the series had up to that point. However, with season two, the show seems to be looking to correct that mistake in a big way.

Picking up immediately where last season left-off, we rejoin the crew of the USS Nathan James as they work to re-take control of their ship from Amy Granderson’s rogue force. At the same time, Chandler aligns himself with some new allies to help him take down Granderson’s operation meant to only save a select few from the virus in the re-constructed city of Baltimore. However, with Chandler out of contact with the crew, the two plans are easier said than done.

In many ways, The Last Ship is choosing to adopt a Netflix/Amazon approach to its season premiere that thrusts the audience into the action without offering any sense of reminder as to whom everyone is, what their relationship is to one another and why they are where they are. For much of the first hour, new fans are going to find themselves disoriented by the non-stop sequences of a ship under siege and covert attempts to shut down a rogue conspiracy. However, much of this begins to take shape by the time hour two of the premiere rolls around.

Starting in the second half the two-hour episode, everyone’s role in the show’s post-apocalyptic game becomes clear, and thanks to that, much of the action is able to pick-up some much needed weight. By the time the Nathan James crew enacts its plans, the audience is right there with them in what amounts to a rather excellent sequence that alludes to the only decent part of Michael Bay’s Pearl Harbor – you know the one. However, what the premiere doesn’t do is bother trying to cram a variety of nonsensical world expansions into its premiere.

The Lash Ship Season 1 Free HD Quality TV Show Online

h, The Last Ship... A summer time-waster if there ever was one -- and I mean that in a good way. When the latest round of HBO shows were all but in the books and network fall shows were still weeks away, TNT's The Last Ship was there to fill the void. Luckily, the Michael Bay-produced drama series also happened to be pretty entertaining, with no shortage of explosions or gun fights to keep things interesting. Heck, by the end of Season 1, even a few of the characters had come into their own, offering several great seasonal arcs.

Of course, the real draw of The Last Ship was its unique, double-edged premise: U.S. Navy meets global pandemic. Therein lied the makings of some quality popcorn TV, and for the most part the series delivered. The pilot took immediate hold of viewers with its top-notch production values, expeditious storytelling and unique investigation into a very believable viral outbreak.

At the onset, characterization was somewhat weak, and that would continue for several more episodes, as the story focused more on action and less on the crew. "Welcome to Gitmo" and "We'll Get There," for example, were almost entirely action-based, with the crew embarking on away missions and going toe-to-toe with a Russian vessel (respectively). In fact, it wasn't until Season 1's fourth episode "We'll Get There" that we began to get a real sense of who these characters were and how they had been affected by the outbreak. Granted, in terms of main storylines, "We'll Get There" was also probably the weakest episode of the bunch. (Ship maintenance, anyone?)

All of that helped The Flash race right out of the gate, hit the ground running, and other assorted speed-related puns in its premiere episode. For whatever fears I may have had about Gustin's physicality or leading man potential in his early Arrow appearances, he rapidly grew into the role of Barry Allen once the spotlight was placed on him. Gustin brought a winning blend of youthful energy, latent pathos and Peter Parker-esque awkwardness to the table. He gave us a Barry Allen that's impossible not to connect with. Barry is immensely likable. He's less intense than Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen. He's driven by tragedy but anchored by a small family unit. He's faithful to the comic book Barry Allen but tempered by a bit of Wally West's humor and everyman appeal.
